Terms of Service

Draft notice: this is a starting draft written to close a real gap before commercial launch — Nisaea previously had no Terms of Service page at all. It has not been reviewed by a lawyer. Have it reviewed before relying on it, publishing it as final, or using it in connection with paid subscriptions.

1. Agreement to these terms

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Nisaea (the “Service”), a reef aquarium management application. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Your account

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. You must provide accurate information when creating an account and keep it up to date.

3. Your tank data

You own the data you enter into Nisaea — parameter readings, coral records, photos, notes, and equipment information (“Your Data”). We use Your Data to operate the Service on your behalf: displaying it back to you, computing trends and forecasts, and powering the AI reef assistant. We do not sell Your Data.

4. AI features are guidance, not professional advice

Nisaea's AI reef assistant, forecasts, and automated recommendations are generated from your logged data and general reef-keeping knowledge. They are provided for informational purposes only and are not a substitute for your own judgment, testing, or professional advice (including veterinary advice for livestock health). You are responsible for decisions made about your tank, including dosing, equipment changes, and livestock care.

5. Subscription tiers

Nisaea offers a free Community tier and paid tiers that unlock the capabilities listed on the Pricing page. Paid subscriptions renew until cancelled. You can manage payment details, invoices, plan changes, and cancellation through the billing portal in Settings. Cancellation normally takes effect at the end of the paid period unless stated otherwise.

Purchased voice packs add a stated number of text-to-speech characters. Approximate minutes are estimates and vary with speaking pace and content. Refunds and disputes may proportionally remove unused purchased voice credit. Usage already consumed cannot always be restored.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to: use the Service to store or transmit unlawful content; attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or data; interfere with or disrupt the Service's operation; or use the Service in a way that violates applicable law.

7. Third-party services

Nisaea is built on Supabase (authentication and data storage) and, for AI features, may send relevant tank context to third-party AI providers (such as OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google) to generate responses. If you connect a local agent for camera or controller integration, that software runs on hardware you control and communicates with the Service under your account.

8. Termination

You may stop using the Service and request deletion of your account at any time by contacting Support@Nisaea.com. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

9. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. Nisaea is not liable for livestock loss, equipment damage, or other harm arising from reliance on the Service, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be noted on this page with an updated date.
